What the AIQ test records about you
Last updated 24 October 2026
myaiq.org is run by Wim Sweldens. This page says what is recorded when you visit the site or take the test, why, and how to have it deleted. Questions or requests: info AT myaiq.org.
- No cookies, no advertising, no analytics trackers.
- You can take the whole test without giving us your email.
- While you take it, we record which questions you reach, plus rough device details and your country. We do not store your IP address in our database.
- If you ask for the report, we store your email and results and connect them to your answers and feedback from that attempt.
- Ask us and we delete it.
When you visit any page
The site is hosted on Google Cloud in Europe. Like any web host, Google's servers log each request: your IP address, your browser and operating system, the page you asked for, the page you came from, and the time. We use this to keep the site running and to see roughly how many people visit. These logs are kept for 30 days and then deleted.
The pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, so Google also receives your IP address when a page loads.
While you take the test
Each attempt gets a random ID. It is held only in the page's memory, so it disappears when you close the tab, and nothing is saved on your device. We record:
- when you start, each question as it is shown to you, and when you reach the results, with the times;
- once, at the start: your device type (phone, tablet or computer), browser and operating system with major version, window width rounded to the nearest 100 pixels, your language setting, your timezone, the website you came from (the domain only), and your country.
That tells us where people give up, whether the test works on phones, and which countries people come from. Your country is worked out from your IP address by Google's load balancer at the moment your attempt starts. Only the two-letter country code reaches us and is stored. We never store the address itself, and we do not record anything more precise than the country.
If you leave feedback
The thumbs up or down and any comment you write are stored with the question number, the answer you chose, the points it scored, and the attempt's random ID. Please do not put personal information in comments.
If you ask for the report
To send the report we store your email address, your scores, how many times you chose "I don't know", how long the attempt took, and the test version and date. The attempt's random ID is stored with it, which connects your email to the answers, feedback and journey from that attempt. If you tick the box for reminders, we also store the exact wording you agreed to, its version and the time.
The report is sent through Brevo, our email delivery provider. The chart in the email is an image kept at an unguessable address on our own storage. Your email address is also saved in your browser, so the form is prefilled next time. That copy stays on your device, and you can remove it by clearing this site's data.
Where it is kept, and for how long
- Test data and emails: in Google Cloud's europe-west1 region (Belgium). There is no automatic deletion at the moment. We keep it until you ask us to delete it.
- Server logs: 30 days.
- Reminder emails: only if you ticked the box. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw at any time.
Why we do this
- Sending your report: you asked for it.
- Reminder emails: only because you ticked the box.
- Recording how people move through the test: we have an interest in making it better, and we limit it to what is listed above.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how it is used. To find your records we will need the email address you used. If you never gave an email, records of an attempt cannot be tied to you, which is also why we cannot look them up. If you are not happy with how we handle your data, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
If what we record changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated.
